Sometimes the weather works with you, sometimes against you, and sometimes both!⁠⁠

I had set up a stock photo session at Brian Welman Training Center in River Falls, WI. I am working on adding more western images to my Equine Stock Library (www.shelleypaulsonstock.com) and they are a reining barn with the one of most beautiful outdoor arenas I’ve ever seen!⁠⁠

The forecast was for partly cloudy skies – there was no mention of rain. Well, the weather had other ideas, and about 10 minutes after starting, with the sun still shining, we began to feel big fat raindrops. ⁠

I took photos of Brook Matthiesen in the rain for a few minutes but then it started pouring so we made a run for the barn! It came down in buckets for about 10 minutes (all the while the sun was still shining – I kid you not!). ⁠⁠

The rain finally stopped and left in its wake the most SPECTACULAR skies and dramatic light. We couldn’t do slides due to the wet footing but had fun anyway spinning and playing with the sky. ⁠⁠
